Leadership Roundtable

A Forum for Building Christian Leaders

ABOUT

It’s officially here! The inaugural Leadership Roundtable. A forum held twice a semester for the express purpose of discussing the state of our campuses and sharpening one another for the integration of faith and the study of law.

SPEAKER

For our next roundtable event, we are honored to host Chaplain (MAJ) Mark Lee. His record for service and leadership is astounding and befitting of a full treatment.

Chaplain (CH) Lee is a native of Steelville, Missouri. He entered active-duty service as a Chaplain (56A) with the U.S. Army on January 1, 2009. As a bi-vocational minister CH Lee has worked in Christian ministry for 23 years while maintaining a number of professional educational qualifications, particularly in the fields of law and finance. Before joining the U.S. Army, he worked as a professional banker, for approximately 10 years, specializing as a stockbroker and financial planner. CH Lee currently serves as Community Chaplain for Fort Belvoir. He is coded as a military Financial Comptroller. This allows him to serve as the CFO for the Religious Support Offices, when appointed, in his Garrison. Additionally, he is an appointed member of the Army Religious Accommodation Review Board (ARARB). The ARARB reviews all religious accommodation denial appeals that involve the Army’s COVID-19 vaccine requirement.

CH Lee’s first assignment was to the 64CAV 31ID Fort Hood, Texas. While at Fort Hood he deployed to Afghanistan, Iraq and when in Garrison pastored a local Chapel. Next, CH Lee served as a Battalion Chaplain for the 524th Military Intelligence Battalion in the Republic of Korea. While there he had the honor of pastoring the largest congregation in the U.S. Army (Cornerstone Chapel Service-Yongsan Army Base). In Hawaii, CH Lee served as the 307th Signal Battalion Chaplain before moving into a career track of Chaplaincy Resource Management.

CH Lee holds several degrees including a Doctorate in Law (JD) from the University of Hawaii, Law School and a Master’s in Business Administration (MBA) from Mid-America Christian University. CH Lee holds ministerial degrees including a Masters, in Professional Ministry (MA) from the Assemblies of God Theological Seminary and a Bachelors, in Biblical Studies (BA) from American Christian College and Seminary. His military education includes the Chaplain Basic Officer Leader Course, Chaplains Captain’s Career Course, Chaplaincy Resource Manager Course, Strong Bonds Program Certifications, A.C.E. and Assist suicide prevention certifications.

CH Lee’s military awards and decorations include the Meritorious Service Medal (2), Army Commendation Medal (3), Global War on Terrorism Service Medal, Korean Defense Service Medal and Combat Action Badge.
