Welcome!

The Central Ohio Chapter is a fellowship of Christian lawyers, law students, and ministry friends in Columbus and surrounding areas who have a passion for serving Christ, the community, and each other. We strive to integrate our faith with our legal practice. Our chapter is affiliated with the national organization of the Christian Legal Society.

Our activities vary throughout the year and include:

• Periodic luncheons with speakers who include judges, attorneys, and holders of political office.
• A day long CLE focusing on issues of faith and practice every December. This CLE also provides professionalism credits.
• Various informal gatherings for mutual encouragement and fellowship.
• Actively supporting the mission of the CLS law student chapters at Capital University and The Ohio State University.

Attorney Chapter

Legal Clinics

There are several clinics where Christian lawyers can provide pro bono legal assistance to those in need. The Vineyard Immigration Counseling Service hosted by the Columbus Vineyard Church is a CLS-affiliated Christian Legal Aid Clinic. Events:

If you have been wanting to utilize your God-given skills as a Christian attorney to help the needy, be sure to come to the informational meeting in two weeks! Ken Liu from Christian Legal Society will present about Christian legal aid on October 20, 2022 at 6:00 P.M. at the Dream Center in Delaware, Ohio (77 London Road). We are working on starting a monthly brief advice clinic to start at that location in 2023. You are not committing to anything other than learning more about Christian legal aid.

Here are some common questions that will be addressed:
*Why Christian legal aid?
*What if I don’t know about certain areas of law?
*What about malpractice insurance?
*How often will the clinic run?

We are very excited to announce that registration is now open for the Annual CLE on December 2, 2022! The cost of the event is $150. You can register here.

This event is offered as both an in-person and virtual event. Currently, the physical location is National Church Residences Corporate Offices 2335 N. Bank Drive, Columbus, OH 43220. (Subject to change if the number of registrants exceeds space capacity.)

CLE Approval of this course is pending from the Supreme Court of Ohio Commission on Continuing Legal Education for 6.5 total CLE hours (5.5 general, 1.0 Professional Conduct).
